Factory Car Stereo Repair

"Let's keep it original"

"Why is keeping it factory the best?"
(or at least a very good idea!)
Shouldn't I just buy a used one?

Thinking of buying used, learn from the experiences of others

Here are some of the inquiries to us, you decide if it's a good idea. Most people think it will be great, be warned.

"1995","bmw","740i","cd changer"  my  hope is that you can repair my original unit, and that with the correct adjustments, it will not have the same issue as my temporary replacement
system does. You are correct, I spent $175.00 on the replacement changer hoping that t would function correctly, and although it DOES work, it certainly is not up to the standard that I had hoped.

"1994","BMW","325i","sedan","CD changer","I have a factory CD changer that I bought on E-Bay for my 325i. I bought one in April and installed it. It worked okay but would eject the cartridge on initial startup. I sent it back to the seller, who finally shipped me another one. I installed the new one, which won't do anything at all. The head unit recognizes that there is a CD changer attached, and the eject button lights, and flashes when I press it, but the cartridge won't eject. If I eject it manually (with a credit card) and load the cartridge, the changer doesn't seem to even try to load the CDs into the player. I'm still trying to resolve with the seller, but can you fix this unit for the $120 you quote on your page? Is this a common problem?

,"1999","honda","Accord","","I bought a 6 disk in dash unit and it won't power on","I bought the Item off of ebay and I also went to my local car audio guys and bought the reverse wiring harness to install this unit in a differnet car. However when I mad eall the connections it just on't power on at all. What could this be? Just a bad solder joint? I didnt' think this should be a problem. Mabey and error code but not this. Can you help?

"2000","Dodge","Intrepid","GS","CD changer","My original Cd Changer stopped working. It had power but I was getting an ERR code on the screen when I attempted to play a cd from any of the 4 CDs. CDs will also not eject. I opened up the CD changer figuring it was shot and at least I could get my CDs back and a white plastic part that was broke fell out. I have since attempted two replacements that I got on EBAY. On one, bay one and two worked but not three and four. The second, I could not load a CD and the lights on the CD changer flashed in a pattern that I have not seen before. I still have that CD Changer and I'm wondering if something else is wrong. The last CD changer also came with a replacement cord and that didn't work with it either.Somehow I'd like to get one of these working. The second CD changer I sent back.
